Surf And Turf Burger
Ingredients:
- 4x Burger buns
- 4x 120g Beef fillet steaks
- 1 Lettuce, rinsed
- 8x ready-to-cook Prawns
- 1 tbsp. Olive oil
- 1 tsp. Garlic powder
- 1 tsp. Black pepper, to season
- 1 tsp. Salt, to season
- 1 tsp. fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 Tomatoes, sliced
- 2 cups Cheese, grated
- 4 tbsp. Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp. Tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. Spicy brown mustard
- ½ tsp. Paprika

Directions:
- Preheat the braai until hot and the coals are white.
- For the Spice mix: Add garlic powder, black pepper and salt to a small bowl. Gently sprinkle the spice mix on the steaks and lightly brush with oil. Sprinkle the remaining spice mix over the shrimp.
- For the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk the mayo, tomato sauce, mustard and paprika and put aside.
- Time to Braai: Braai the beef for +- 3 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking. Transfer the cooked fillets to rest on a plate loosely cover with foil to secure all the juices. Braai the shrimp until it turns pink, for +- 5 minutes and remove from the coals. Lightly drizzle fresh lemon and set aside. Butter the buns and crisp on the braai on each side for +-3 minutes.
- Once the meat has cooled down, gently slice the meat into smaller pieces and drizzle with the meat juices.
- Build your Surf and Turf Burger: Place the buns on a flat surface. Spread your burger sauce evenly on the bottom buns. Layer the ingredients starting with meat, topped with lettuce, tomato, pawns and grated cheese. Serve with homemade chips and enjoy!
