Flaky Waffles topped with Strawberry

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ tsp. Active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup Warm water
  • 1 ½ tbsp. Granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Melted butter
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • ¾ tsp. Ground cinnamon
  • Nutella and whip cream/ ice cream for topping
  • Sliced strawberries and bananas for topping

Directions:

  • In a small bowl, add the yeast, warm water and sugar and let sit for 10 minutes until yeast starts to foam.
  • Add the flour, salt, and cinnamon to the bowl of a stand mixer. Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour the yeast into the well.
  • Turn the mixer to low and begin mixing. Crack in the eggs one at a time, making sure it’s incorporated before adding the next. With the mixer on low, slowly stir in the melted butter. Increase speed to medium and beat for 1 minute until everything is well combined. The batter will be thicker than a normal waffle batter, but more “runny” than a traditional yeast dough.
  • Turn the mixer to low and begin mixing. Crack in the eggs one at a time, making sure it’s incorporated before adding the next. With the mixer on low, slowly stir in the melted butter. Increase speed to medium and beat for 1 minute until everything is well combined. The batter will be thicker than a normal waffle batter, but more “runny” than a traditional yeast dough.
  • Place the mixing bowl in a warm spot and cover with paper cling. Leave the dough to rise until doubled in size for 45 minutes.
  • Prepare your LK’s Waffle Maker with Non-Stick Grill Spray and heat on the stove or in the coals. Spoon about ¼ cup of batter into the centre of your LK’s Waffle Maker, close and cook for about 3 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
    Note:: Be cautious of the melted sugar as its hot and will burn you if you touch it.
  • 7. Plate your waffles and top with Nutella, strawberries, bananas and whip cream/ice cream. Enjoy!
