How to make your own Pizza Dough

How to make your own Pizza Dough


  • 1 ½ cup Warm water
  • 2 packets Active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp. Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Extra virgin olive oil, plus more for bowl and drizzling
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour, plus more for work surface



  1. In a large bowl, pour the water and sprinkle with yeast. Leave to stand until foamy for about 5 minutes.
  2. Whisk in the sugar, oil and salt.
  3. Add flour and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  4. In another bowl, lightly brush it with a little olive oil.
  5. Place the dough inside, drizzle a little oil over the top and cover with plastic wrap. Set bowl aside in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size, +- 1 hour.
  6. Place the dough on a lightly floured flat surface. Gently knead 1 or 2 times and let rest for 10 more minutes.
  7. Use or store as is for 1 large pizza, or divide into 4 equal portions for smaller pizzas.
